The Hughes Dispatch: Volume III
Welcome back, Hughes Academy! We're thrilled to announce that we are once again accepting submissions for our annual publication, The Hughes Dispatch. Let your creativity shine in our community and beyond!

Poem and Short Story Submissions
We're eager to delve into the breadth and depth of your imaginations, Hughes Academy students! This year, we're accepting a diverse range of genres. Maybe you've concocted a heart-pounding science fiction piece, or perhaps a compelling historical fiction narrative is more your style. We welcome everything from spine-tingling horror stories to engaging coming-of-age tales and beyond.
To our poets, we encourage pieces that explore themes such as love, nature, identity, and personal experiences. Use vivid imagery and figurative language to convey emotions and ideas. Don't be afraid to experiment with different forms of poetry – haikus, villanelles, sestinas, or even Shakespearean sonnets!
We're especially intrigued by bilingual pieces. Those poems that weave in and out of languages or are entirely in a language other than English (such as Spanish) are a fantastic opportunity to highlight our Spanish immersion program and our multilingual students.
Remember, we value originality, creativity, and quality in all submissions, so take your time to craft your best work.
